The final exam is coming. In a few days I am going to have this (kind of terrifying) final exam. Obviously I need to start studying for the exam now, learning from my last experience with mid-term where everything was out of control because I only got a few days to study for the exam. BUT instead of studying, here I am, looking at lingerie catalogues on internet.

I am actually not into lingerie but some of them look very pretty with the pretty lace details and of course, in black colour. I don't even know when will I wear these but they look so elegant and pretty at the same time. Here, let me show you.

Event Report: sMart Dialogue

Today I went to an art event called SMart Dialogue at Dia.lo.gue Art Gallery, Kemang with my friends. Art exhibitions, art bazaar, workshops, and good music are provided in this event. The art space is providing a great atmosphere for the exhibitions which contains artworks from Yaya Sung and Angela Judiyanto. Besides looking at the great exhibitions, booths from various innovative brands are also interesting. I bought a pretty dress from Odd & Dot by the way.

I personally love to go to this kind of event. It calms me even though I need to give a special effort to reach it.

W: Sunnies for My Sunny Days

University has kept me busy for the whole month. From classes, quizzes, until committee tasks for a music fair at my uni. Since my uni is far from my home, I need to get there with a transportation. Bicycle and motorcycle are not an option for me because first I cannot ride a motorcycle, second it will ruin my day because of the high level of pollution cause by other vehicle, and third those transportations will make me start my day in a bad mood because it will be too exhausting. Well, there is a commuter line train that I can use but the nearest train station is 5 km from my house and I have to use another transportation to get there so it will not be efficient. Thus, the only solution for my problem is using car to get to the uni. 

If you get in my car you will find several things that are essentials. 

• E-toll Card. To make things easier when entering the highway.
• Rp 2,000 is the minimum amount of money in the car. Because I need it to enter my uni.
• Music. From CDs to cassettes, currently addicted to Best of Naif cassette that I bought at a music fair at my uni.
• Tissues. To wipe the rear windows when it gets blurry or wet because of the weather and of course for my personal use.
• Sunglasses. The second most important thing after music.

Talking about sunglasses, here is a wishlist of sunglasses that I want to buy if I get bored with my current pink cat eye sunglasses.

Things are becoming more monotone. I do not know why but currently there is no event or things that makes my life interesting lately. I have tried to go to a Henry Holland event last Saturday but my friends were out of town or had something else to do so I did not have a company to go to. Things are getting pretty boring lately. I spent my short holiday with internet, internet, and sometimes books (but mostly internet). I need something new and exciting.

Music Monday: Don't Save Me

Good evening,
It looks like that I have abandoned this blog for a while. I have a lot of things to do, start from university class, events, and so on. It is even a rare time to open my laptop because I come home at night almost everyday. I have class from 8 AM until 6 PM. Well, probably not everyday but because of the traffic and the distance of my campus to my home I come home at night everyday.

I am going to have a mid-term exam on next Wednesday. I am not sure that I can do well because I am still in the adapting process of the life of a university student. I have to admit that it is not like what I expected when I was in Senior High School. I thought that it will be easier and I will have a lot of spare time. WELL NO IT IS NOT. Even though I am very tired but I am very happy to be a university student.

By the way, let's talk about Music Monday. It is been a while since the last time that I actually post Music Monday on an actual Monday. As usual, I will share a song that I currently like. Today's song is 'Don't Save Me' by HAIM (How to pronounce it? It rhymes with 'time'). I just found out about this band's album a few weeks ago because I am preparing for Laneway 2014 where they will perform on 25th January 2014. The band consists of three members which are Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim. Yes, Haim is their last name since all of them are sisters. My favorite member is Danielle, the singer of the band. Besides singing, she also plays lead guitar in the band. Her fashion style and voice make me like her. In addition to that, she once played as a backing band member of Julian Casablancas of The Strokes.

Maison Martin Margiela 2013 Fall Couture

Maison Martin Margiela is one of my favorite designer. The reason is because I think his designs is different. It is actually weird but in a good way. Some people might dislike and find the collection from MMM is weird, wacko, and not wearable at all. Well, it might be but it still looks weirdly beautiful. The truth is I do not know much about him, except that he never shows up in the end of fashion show, but seeing his collection season to season makes me curious about him. I think I am going to try googling him after this.

This MMM couture collection is not that extravagant, which I think not really the style of MMM, but all of them looks so beautiful and detailed. So much details. Another thing that always makes me remember of MMM is the mask. It reminds me of the mask from S&M fetish but fancier and prettier. I think I might have some kind of obsession over the MMM masks. Am I the only one who like it?

"How the hell the models can walk straight while wearing the mask?", is the question that always bugging me.

Favorites from Valentino Fall 2013 Couture

This moment I saw this coat, I knew that I have found my dream coat. The color of the coat and the golden colored details in the shape of insects. Oh, my.

Love the complicated details on the top beneath the coat. The combination between the color of the messy looking threads is so amazing. It somehow looks like a bird's feathers.

The color, the pattern, and do not forget about the texture. I cannot stop thinking how it feels like when you touch the details of the dress with your hands.

What I can see from the couture collection of Valentino is that some of the clothing has sea creatures and insects pattern or details. As you can see for this one, they use seashell and some kind of coral patterns.

 Love, love, love. I do not know how the express my love for this dress besides the word 'love' itself.

 Totally in love with the patterns of this dress. It looks like something from old educational animal science book where the illustration can looks so creepy yet it looks so beautiful. The velvet part of the dress looks cute too, especially from behind where it looks like ropes (I did not include the picture here, sorry).

Band of Outsiders Spring 2014 Menswear

Maybe it is a little too late (well, it is) but I just remembered that I saved a few photos (well, almost all of them) of Band of Outsiders Spring 2014 Menswear collection. This collection is probably one of my favorites from Spring 2014 Menswear collection. Besides of the clothing, the way they photographed the collection impressed me. It looks weird, funny, and fun at the same time. The model looks like that he was having fun by posing funny poses in front of the camera. Talk about the clothing, well, by the fact that I posted almost all of the collection, means that I actually love the collection.

It Started In Naples (1960)

Yesterday, I spent my night by watching a movie by one of my favorite actress, Sophia Loren. What I admired about her is her voluptuous curvy body and her Italian beauty. After watching several 60s movies, now I can see that the curvy body type is what women at that time idolize. Another examples are Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe. The big hips, the small waist, the big breasts. Even with those features, they all can look so beautiful and sensual too. It somehow makes my confidence increase a little bit more, since I also have a big hips. I used to be embarrassed and try to cover my big hips since I do not like the look of it.

Well, back to the movie, the story line is pretty simple. Probably this kind of story line is pretty common nowadays. Nonetheless, there are several things that make me love this movie. 

1. First, the tone color of the movie. I am a sucker for 60s color movies. I do not know why, since I am not a film expert, the colors are prettier in my opinion than HD movies nowadays. There is something that made it looks so bright and fresh.

3. Third, the jokes. This is actually the first 60s movie that I actually get the jokes and laugh about it.

Many Shades of Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 Menswear

Today I went to school to take care of some documents. Met a few friends. Decided to watch 'Man of Steel' with some of my friends. Wear my pair of docmart with army green jeans and blue stripes t-shirt. The film was ok in my opinion. It could have been better but I do not know, I think the story line is kind of confusing. I am not a big fan of the back-and-forth style of the story. Went to Zara as well to take a look at the sale items. Got my eyes on several items that I want. I think I will come back again tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow. Well, it is still a pretty fun day.

The thing that I want to tell to Mr. Christopher Bailey himself is "I LOVE THE COLOR PALLETE OF BURBERRY PRORSUM SPRING 2014 MENSWEAR COLLECTION". Yes, I will do it exactly like how you imagine people read some writings in capital letters. No one can resist looking at this collection! The colorful garments, bright colored shoes, sharp looking suits, and so on. I love how they dress all of the models in dark colored trousers which makes the colorful clothing and shoes more stand out. Definitely my favorite from this season.

Valentino Resort 2014

As you can see from my last post, there are two collection that I love the most from Resort 2014, this is the other one. I currently watched Valentino documentary. It is a great documentary, especially if you love the brand. I believe that if you love something, try to dig as much information as you can. Know how they work, who made it, how it looks like behind the scene, and so on. It could be a great topic to start a conversation too!

These are all my favorites from this collection but the only thing that I really, really want is the dress with flower prints. It looks so gorgeous, simple cut but lovely prints. I can see myself wearing it. But the price, oh, the price, designer things are so bloody expensive.

One of the reason why I like Valentino is the detail of the garment. As you can see in three looks below, there are so much detail in every garment. After I watched the documentary, now I know that Mr. Valentino is a great designer who really pays attention to details.

3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2014

Ok, apparently not "the rest" but "some" of my favorites from resort 2014 are posted in the last post. There are two other collection that I really love so there are too many looks that I adore. Instead of cramp it up in one post, I am going to post it separately.

Amongst all of them, my most favorite piece is the white jumpsuit. The little addition of colors and line makes it a very interesting piece of garment. Even though it will not suit me, since the jumpsuit will probably too long for my height, I still love it.

I personally try to choose my favorites from a particular collection only the clothes that I will wear and will looks good on me, not just because it is beautiful. This way of thinking kind of help me whenever I shop. It will (I hope) prevent me from buying things that I will only wear once or probably never going to wear it at all! Because it has happened to me before. I am currently still living with my parent's money so I cannot spend my money that way. I need to consider it before buying it.

...And Other Resort 2014 Collections That I love

Ok, I know it is a bit too late to update my blog with posts about resort 2014 collections. It has been a very busy month because of the university intake, graduation, prom, and so on. Basically, I am starting a new life as a university student. Thank God, I have the opportunity to be a part of one of the most favorite university in Indonesia. I actually still do not believe that I am no longer a high school student.

Well, because now is already menswear season, I going to post the rest of my favorites from resort 2014 in this post.

I am a HUGE fan of Game of Thrones. I first saw it on HBO and thought, "what is this medieval series?". But then I decided to watch the season 2 marathon and the more I watched it, the more interesting it got. The story line, the script, the character, the costumes, all of them is amazing. If you have not watched it, you better start it right now.

I just found these pictures from a meme tumblr of Game of Thrones. It made me giggles and if you are a Game of Throne's fans too, you will find this pretty funny too. Here are some of my favorites.

So Many Dumb Ways To Die

I can't get this song out of my head. This catchy tunes from Metro is made to remind people not to do stuff because it is a dumb way to die. It is sung by Tangerine Kitty. You can download the song from their official soundcloud or iTunes (you can find the link on the video explanation). Well, I found a 10 hours loop of this video on Youtube. No, I will not watch it because I can't even finish the one hour loop version of it.

The Greens

Since my favorite from Burberry and Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014 is less that two looks, I am going to make it into one post instead of the individual post like the usual. First of all, what I will highlight from these two looks are the color, which is green. It has been one of my favorite colors since God knows when. The color somehow looks very refreshing, and the darker hues looks very calming and warm to me. 

This lime green dress is my favorite from The Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014. To be honest, the rest of the collection looks kind of old-ish and boring to me. They are all looks very Oscar de la Renta to me, but I do not think most of it suits my personal taste. This dress looks very refreshing and scream 'spring' to me with the blue flower details. I would like to wear this to my prom night but unfortunately the hem line will not suit my body type since it will 'cut' my height. Oh well, it still looks very cute.

This is the only looks that I adore from Burberry Resort 2014. The sarong-like skirt looks very chic. The green sweater also looks very comfortable. Actually, the whole looks seems very comfortable but chic at the same time. I would wear this kind of looks to my work place (someday). Oh, do not forget the chic white shoes! I am so into white stuff at the moment.
